Let's Go Outside!

Today Miles got a chance to hang out with both of his Grandmothers at the same time. What a treat! We all went outside to enjoy the sun, water and swing. It was the best investment ever! His Godmommy got him a water table and it will be here in a few days, can't wait, thanks Step!

I am 19 months Today!

Wowee! I keep hearing my mommy and daddy say, time has fown by so fast. I dunno I can't tell. I have survived my first double ear infection, first flight, all of my milk teeth, my first move along with the bumps and bruises that come with being a toddler! I like fried chicken and french fries, I will eat a hot dog if it is grilled and a burger too! I still love to eat fruit, and my new thing is soy chips! I weigh a whole 29 lbs and growing overnite! My favorite book is Dr. Seuss's ABC book when I get to the Letter D page I call out "Dada"! I can hear that book over an over and over! In fact mommy and daddy both read it when the book is nonwhere in sight, their good! I had taken a break from taking my afternoon nap for about a week but I am getting back into the swing of thangs! Speaking of swings, I got a new one today as well as a new ball. Yippee! I hope to get a new pool and a water table because I just let my parents know that I am about the water now! I also can't wait to have my playdate with Elijah next week. Mom will post pics as soon as she can. Oh yeah I gave up my paci in Texas and don't use one anymore and now mommy keeps saying pottya lot! What's she talking about? Should I be worried?

Miles and Jackson Together Again!

Miles' Mini MOMA

I may have mentioned that a while back a I won a lil contest at JJ page ( would link you but I am helping her to stay hidden :p) and I won a custom piece of work from her lil gal. I have used it to decorate my son's playroom. From that i got a reall great idea, that I wanted to share with you. I sent out emails to some of my blogging buds to see if they were interested in sending some of their kids art work and aside from JJ, Chelle over at Crazy Thoughts sent me 2 finger paintings that her daughter Becca made. They really look great in the room. Some of the people who I asked probablly think that it is too late to send it (you know who u are!) but it's not! As parents I know that you have a ton of pictures that clutter the fridge, So send one in to and I'll frame it and hang it in Miles' Playroom. Email me !

Good Gnu's

Today was Miles' follow-up appointment and we got to see our most favorite doctor! Yay! She checked him out and he let her look in his ears and she could tell there was evidence of inflammation but that things looked well. We were both happy to relieved to hear that Miles was in the clear!

Cousin Jackson and his mommy and daddy are in town. We got a chance to visit and hang out. Miles had just gotten up froma nap and wasn't really ready to socialize, but after awhile he was scootin around the house running his Uncle Sonny ragged! When jackson saw that Miles was having a mini meltdown, he tried to comfort him by giving him a hug. It was too sweet. Jackson is a few short months older than Miles but clearly at these stages of life it seems like years. Anyhoo, Miles ate french fries and chicken fingers and was a happy camper. They even managed to squeezed in a hug when saying goodbye! I'm sorry I don't have any pics but we are supposed to be getting together again so ai'll be sure to take a ton!

Well that's all folks!

We're Back!

We got back into Philadelphia yesterday and boy do I have a tale to tell! So if ya got a minute check it out! We get into Texas and Ryan's Uncle Pancho picks us up from the DFW Airport and takes us on a mini tour of Fort Worth. We stayed at the AmeriSuites at the Stockyards, they were under construction in the lobby! We got there before 1pm and told ud that we had to wait till like 2pm to check in and Miles was having a meltdown, wet diaper, hungry and tired! My MIL worked some magic and got us registered and we were on our way! Our room had 2 double beds and we got Miles a crib. This will tell you how long its been since we all traveled, it was a Pack n' Play. It was the best thing we could have done. Anyhoo back to the tale, Thursday was supposed to be our check in /registration and dinner at Pancho's house. We were in our room relaxing and my MIL brought back a variety of sandwiches and sodas to eat and out of nowhere Miles decides that at that moment he was going to eat solid "real" food! He began by eating the lettuce from my sandwich and then went to Ryan's sandwich and ripped thru it like a termite to wood! I'd say about 30minutes later Miles' lip looked funny but he makes so many funny faces who could tell. Then it really didn't look right, it was no longer pink and it was swollen! Then it turned a yellowish and got really nervous. We, thank God, brought Benadryl and gave him that and headed to the hospital. The Hotel mgr. droves us and got there faster than a cab. When we got to Cook Children's Hospital ER they basically told us that he was fine and there was no real way of pinpointing what caused the allergic reaction. If his condition worsens to come back. We were now super exhausted and all we wanted to do was go back to the hotel. We got to the hospital @4:15 and was discharged @5:30. We called a cab and it nver came, the driver kept calling Ryan on his cell phone and saying he was at the ER and he wasn't . We calle the Cab Co. and they said they will send someone elsr and they never came. We called another cab and they told me they only do the airport. All together everyone DAMMIT! I am hotter than fish grease. Then I figured there was a cop in the parking lot, so I will ask for his help. He was on the phone and had no intentions on putting them on hold to see what I wanted. He shot me a look like what the hell do you want! So I walked away before he hauled me away for cussing him out. I went back into tje ER an asked the nurse for a new taxi number and she gave it to me and the dispatch said they would be there right away. In the meantime, Ryan was on the phone withthe Hotel to see if anyone could come and get us, a taxi rolled passed and I flagged him down and he looked like he was fresh form MARS! I asked him if he knew how to get to our hotel and he paused and said how do you get there? I told him that we din't know we were from out of town. So we went back and forth and then finially I said tell me now, do you know how to get to the hotel because your aren't gonna ride me around Texas and then charge me up the wazoo! We called back to the hotel and the called a cab to give then directions to the ER and back and don't you know we got disconnected! Urggh! By this time Miles has gone to sleep poor kiddo, I felt so bad for him. Another cab came by and he barely understood me and I just said screw it we had to take a risk and prayed that he didn't drive us into unknown land to have us for dinner, sending only our teeth to our families! HE MADE IT! Thank Ya Jesus We missed the shuttle to Ryan's uncle's house. We put the baby down and went to Riscky's and chowed down on catfish and ribs.

Friday was better for us. I helped set up for reunion registration and make name tags. Oh yeah it was hella hot and humid! So much so my MIL had gotten sick (Sorry Arlene for putting you on blast). By the Round-up she was back to her old self again. Speaking of the round-up it was full of family, food and games. Miles did wonderfully! No freaking out or anything. We had a Black Cowboy come to speak to us. There was karioke and I caught that on video. Later on Arlene (MIL) sat with Miles as he slept so Ryan and I could take a walk. Ok first of all no one told me that the crickets some out to dance around your toes! We looked at the stores that sold everything from BBQ to Southwestern decor. I got a frozen blue margartita and it was good! We strolled past a place called Booger Reds Saloon!

Saturday was the Family Picnic, and last nights frozen drink put me on my arss! Really bad hangover, hedache form hell! I stayed at the room and Ryan and Miles went without me and I tried to sleep it off I didn't start to feel better until about 7:45 pm and by that time we went to the rodeo. I loved it! But I knew I would. They even has kids chasing sheep and a calf. Loads of fun. Miles loved it too he even bopped to the beat of the country tunes that were playing then he fell asleep.

Sunday we were supposed to go to church but Miles devloped a cough and it didn't sound good and we kept him in to rest. Ryan was exhausted and stayed with the baby and I went to the passing of the gavel. That happens at the end of every family reunion and the next family will plan the reunion 2 years from now. We will be in Chi-town! ans the theme is baseball! Can't wait!

FYI
Miles was a trooper flying on the way to TX. On the way back he was a gem! Thank God for the Backyardigans and Gerber Puffs!
The airport neglected to send one of our bags :(
Miles ate a hot dog, hamburger, beans, and said ice.

Would You Believe....

That after yesterday's fiasco of losing Mama Pearl, we took Miles to a last minute Dr's appt.? We wanted to rule out a possible ear infection. We got to the office and the Dr. gave Miles the once over and looked into his ears (didn't like that one bit!) and said that he saw a small amount of fluid but that it didn't look infected and there was nothing to worry about. Before you all say that i am overreacting, he was digging in his ears and was running a fever and just not himself! The Dr. sent us home and told us to start him on a decongestant. Well we gave him a dose and put him to bed and hadn't heard a sound from him all nite! All is well right? Hell naw! I went to go get him as I always do in the morning and he felt all hot and wobbly. We took his temp and it read 102.7 and immediately called the Dr.'s office and told us to come in @11am and to give him some Tylenol ...we did. Now mind you we were just there 5:15 yesterday and back @11am today. Today we got a different doctor, as soon as she looked in his ears she said EAR INFECTION! What tha... can you see how I now want this doctor's salary! She told us that we will be fine to fly in the morning and to dope him up so that he will rest on the flight. We also have antibiotics he has to take for a week! Yippee fun for all wanna join in the fun? Oh wait did I tell ya that the kiddo is cutting 4 teeth at the same time? Oh what fun! Texas here we come!

I will check in and keep ya posted!

I Rock! Thankyouverymuch!

Lindsay had a surprise for me the other day on her blog and yes I am just now saying a bloggy thank you! I did email her and thanked her for the award! I never win anything.... ever! So when someone else thinks you rock, it means alot. As mothers or parents in general, we do do things like change poopy pampers, wipe up vomit from a sick kiddo, stay up all night when your little one is teething so bad that he can't sleep, for the recognition. We do it because we have to. I don't know how the battle between the SAHM's, Working Mom's, Single Mom's and the like got started but I do know one thing for sure it needs to stop! If you are a good mother that that should be all that matters. I hear all the time, "Did you find a job yet?" or "Your son is 18months and he's not in Daycare?" I do what works best for our family, just like my cousin Lara who left her job to go to Law School full time (you rock!), JJ, who has been a SAHM and her girl is 3, Chelle who just had her second child(Ethan and daughter Becca) and moved her family to the Hill (you rock!), Tanyetta, my girl from Cali who was putting her thang down while her hubby was in Iraq (you rock!), Tasha who is a single working mom with dream and aspirations( you rock!), Yazzie, who has two girls and does stand up comedy and is funny as hell!(you rock!). Do you see where I am going with this? We need to stick together and unite under the "motherhood umbrella". If you know a mother in your life even if it is your own mother, but let her know what a great job she is doing with her child/children, I guarantee that you'll get a smile and it will mean the world to her! And if you can't then maybe you should call Family Services :)

So thanks again Lindsay!

LOST!

Can you believe that I have lost this beauty? My dear husband bought this phone for me and I love this phone! Everything about it was just cool. I went to the Eye doctor today and they dilated my eyes and it must have done a job on my brain, because I don't remember much after the exam! I couldn't see much and when I tried my head would ache something horrible. My dear lil gadget is gone. I had to come to terms with the fact that I was going to have to cancel my number for the obvious reasons. Mama Pearl is gone. May we have a moment of silence.

Lesson Learned from all of this: Leave cell at home when going to eye doctors!

TODAY IS THE DAY!

After 6 long months of waiting, waiting and waiting we finally got ..... Our Dining Room furniture! Wheeeee we are so excited. We bought the set soon after we settled on our house and they said that the table we wanted wasn't in stock in their warehouse and had to be made and shipped from India! We had no idea that it was gonna take this long to get to us. The lady told us that it would be a 90 wait, we figured no problem since we were faced with box after box. well tack on a nother 3 months and boy do you get 2 pissed customers. We would call every now and then to see if our order was ready and every time the lady would say we're still waiting to hear from them, but as soon as I know --you'll know. Then one night (1week ago) the owners husband calls us asking us these ?'s about the buffet/server. I asked him if there was something wrong and he said that he couldn't find it in the warehouse. I was ready to blow up! I stayed cool. Then his wife called and apologized for her husband's asanine way of handling things and said the buffet/server was present and accounted for still waiting on the table. We got a call last Thursday that our table had arrived and is ready for delivery. Oh yeah the delivery charge was $150. I asked them since we had to wait so long was there any way they would cover the charge and the husband said no. So I called the wife the next day and she told me that they miscaluculated the 10% initial discount and we were owed $107. She cut the check and came in the mail 2day. So all in all we paid like $43 for delivery! Everybody happy? Hell no, to make matters worse, we were putting the table legs on and the last leg gave us such a hassle. We couldn't get the screws to go in all the way. We thought we had done something, so we called the shop ans they sent someont to fix it and it turned out that the screws were too damned long! I'm sorry yall but it pisses me off. Anyhoo, the table is fixed and everything ins everything! Her are some pics!
This is what it looked like b4.
