Sick and Tired!

Well for the past week mama and baby have been snifflin and snottin around the house. I figured that we were being attacked by allergies and there was really no way around it. Ya know - NO BIG DEAL! Well I noticed that both our boogers were lovely shades of yellow and green and went very well with the red leaves that have fallen in our yard! We were set to take a little road trip to Rochester, NY to see Miles' God Parents since he hasn't seen them since he was six month old! Saturday morning the boy woke up with a fever. He had felt warm before we put him down but nothing major. I opted not to take him to the doctor and would see how it would play out. I went to get him, as I usually do in the morning and he had a film of yellow-green snot from ear to ear! Yippee and a fever to boot! Well I wanted to be on the safe side and not to push my luck driving through the mountains and irritate his ears. People if you know me, you know my luck with traveling with a sick kid! I just didn't want to risk it! As soon as I got him de-snottified, I called his godparents to let them know we wouldn't be coming. I feel really bad, we all were looking forawrd to this trip. We are trying to figure out when we can do this again. I haven't heard from his Godparents, I hope they understand!

Miles did break his fever last nite and seems to be in good spirits, full of snot, but good spirits nonetheless! Oh yeah, Mommy's doing ok 2!

My Latest Project

PlayGroup for Miles!

I found a playgroup that is being held on the same campus as my old Elementary School, It is a Day care now. Well anyway we thought it would be great for him. It's from 9:30 to 11:30 am, they have free play, arts and crafts, story/circle time and even snack. It is parent run and we all pitch in to help out. It is a wide range of ages, which is fine but it becomes kind of a free for all when older kids show up!

Miles had a relly great time and went up the steps to the slide and slid down all by himself. Such a proud mama I am! Ryan was also able to go with us which was great! It is 2x a week and only $7 after your first time(free). I think we will go back and stay for circle time. Here are some pics.

A Day at the Park!

I know that I am late with posting these pics but here they are. We decided to try out our neighborhood playground and except for the bees it was a really nice time!

Late Update!

OK I do apologize to the 3 people who have been checking everyday for a new post, thank you for your loyalty. I haven't really been in the blogging mood, primarily because I can't type! I wish I could just call you all and chat my post but I can't, so here it goes.

Cousin Rikki and Troy are welcoming their first child in October. I attended the shower and totally left my camera at home. (whatta boob!) Rikki looked great, and her belly filled with their future! I sense the excitement and welcomed fear that we all experience as new moms, my wish for her is to stay in the moment and enjoy the experience. Good Luck!

I had initially noticed that Miles was running around with a limp and I watched him like a hawk. At first, I thought that he was trying out the gallop and I thought how cute, I finally got a pony. Ha! So I made a Dr's appt. and the doctor put him thru a range of motions and saw that there was a discrepancy in his leg length. She advised us to keep things the way they are and as long as he isn't in any pain. She gave us a script for a bilateral hip x-ray. This oughtta be loads of fun. On top of it all we have to wait to see the Ortho doc in NOV! Otherwise he's great!

Miles is beginning to recognize some of his letters. Just last night, he said A-G. He really enjoys saying D-E-F. When he sees the letter D, he gets all happy and says Daddy( it sounds like this da-deeee) He also says goo goo goggles (thanx Dr Seuss). He is coming down the stairs on his own with heavy supervision.

In other news, Miles threw up all over me the other day, just to tell me how much he loves me!
It was all over my left side, on toys, my purse and books! We had to wash him twice to get the smell off. Wheeeeew!

I am Honored! Thank You!

The other day I was nominated for the Niceness Award by Lindsay over at my paint splattered
life. I was really touched that she thought enough of me to nominate me for this award. It is proof positive that niceness pays off. Do unto other's... There are time when you think no one is paying attention, in fact there is always someone and this person is equally as great if not greater. So to keep the niceness flowin' I too will nominate :

Ladies remember to pay it forward nominate people who you think are worthy!

Thanx L

I am 20 Months Old!

I can not believe that in 4 months, I will have a 2year old! I really have been enjoying the moment that I am able to share with him. He is truly funny and I think at times he knows it. Just the other day we were cracking each other up and about what? I don't know. He is running (literally) from one end of the house to the next! He is trues becoming a handful! He is headstrong like both of his parents and fights for the important things like more juice, diaper changes and staying up! I love that he is absolutely fearless! Ans his imagination is beginning to develop. He is spinning around and moving around the house like a airplane. He also has a temper on him, when he gets frustrated he will pinch your clothes and tap his head on just about anything. Sometimes it is hard not to laugh!

He is feeding himself, but would rather you do it! I bought him a new toothbrush, cuz he really tore up the last one.. I decided to get him an buzzing one, like mine since he got his lil paws on it. He loves it! Our biggest problem now is that Miles keeps getting his chunkie lil legs caught in the rails of his crib! Its really bad because he gets wedged between the bars and sometimes will leave marks on his leg! Yikes! Is a Toddler bed in our future? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

He is outgrowing all of his clothes! He's already rockin' 24mos -2T.

Question for you all, what is up with the screaming for all occasions? Just pure screams.

I CALL IT DOOKIE!

Well I must warn you that this post contains words like poo, pee, stinkie and if you have serious issues about bodily functions please leave now!

Now that I've gotten that taken care of, I have been really thinking about trying Miles out on his new potty. The potty has had no real purpose but to take the cushy seat part and chew on it. *yuck!* I figured that I would begin this process on Monday and well Monday has come and gone. Today we were out most of the day and I figured that if I was gonna do anything that I would need to do it soon because Miles was going to bed in 2.5 hrs. After I gave him his dinner he was enjoying a nightcap of watered down cran apple juice. So here is what happened:

Me: Hey buddy are you going to pee-pee in your potty
Miles: Slurp ahhh!

*yesterday we bought Elmo's Potty Time as recommended By Jon and Lara, thanx.

Me: Elmo went to the Potty!
Miles: Slurp slurp aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Me: Let's try.

Well I take him out of his highchair and take off his diaper and place him on the potty. I told him that he had to sit on the potty and makes sure that his penis was tucked in. Yes people I use correct terminology! So we sit and sit and I didn't hear any pee-pee, but I was slapped in the face with king of stinkie's! Oh crap! ( no pun intended, screw that it's intended!) I am going crazy inside because my boy just poopied in the potty! No pee-pee. WARNING, It was massive!
The genius that I am I didn't put any water in the pot beforehand so I was tapping and banging on the toilet to get it out! Yuck!

But Hooray! The first time he was a champ! Oh I am so proud But I didn't go to crazy, cuz my kid is smart and if you make abig deal about some new accomplishment, you won't see it again for months. So begins the journey of potty training. My goal is that he goes into this with no pressure from me! Wish me luck!

I am 19 months Today!

Wowee! I keep hearing my mommy and daddy say, time has fown by so fast. I dunno I can't tell. I have survived my first double ear infection, first flight, all of my milk teeth, my first move along with the bumps and bruises that come with being a toddler! I like fried chicken and french fries, I will eat a hot dog if it is grilled and a burger too! I still love to eat fruit, and my new thing is soy chips! I weigh a whole 29 lbs and growing overnite! My favorite book is Dr. Seuss's ABC book when I get to the Letter D page I call out "Dada"! I can hear that book over an over and over! In fact mommy and daddy both read it when the book is nonwhere in sight, their good! I had taken a break from taking my afternoon nap for about a week but I am getting back into the swing of thangs! Speaking of swings, I got a new one today as well as a new ball. Yippee! I hope to get a new pool and a water table because I just let my parents know that I am about the water now! I also can't wait to have my playdate with Elijah next week. Mom will post pics as soon as she can. Oh yeah I gave up my paci in Texas and don't use one anymore and now mommy keeps saying pottya lot! What's she talking about? Should I be worried?
