Happy Retirement Mom!

Well today was my mother's retirement party held by her co-workers. It was held at the Marriott in Center City and we BLEW IT! Not only did we arrive late but when we got there my dad was carrying all her gifts to the car! What! are you kidding! Mom knew we were coming late because Miles would have gotten toooo antsy and torn up the restaurant! I couldn't believe it. I couldn't even get her flowers. Well after we chatted and was stopped by several women flirting with Miles we headed on home, but not before I got my mom some really awesome lillies.

Mom I am soooo sorry we missed it! Tuesday is your last day! Yeahhhhhhh! Whooooooot whoooot!

We love You!

My Playdate

On Saturday my cousin Elijah came over to play in my new Playroom! It had been a while since we played together, Daddy was the one who set up the playdate. Daddy went to pick up Elijah and his mommy Tasha in our truck and Elijah got to ride in my carseat. Tasha said it was a lot like theirs. Anyway as soon as Elijah got in the doorway I wanted his paci. It was bright red and new!

We played well, meaning he did his thing and I did my thing. That was until he and I wanted to play with the same thing. Mommy had to explain that it was ok for Elijah to play with the toys too! HE also had a really cool looking sports cup and I wanted to get at the whole time. There were times where Elijah wanted my sippy cup and paci too. We had a ball running through the house and laughing and screeching at high volumes.

Mommy followed us round like ( I think you say it like this) Paper Razzy! I hope Elijah can keep coming over to play. I think we will be good buds.

Oh yeah, Elijah kept giving my Mommy kisses. I'm ok with it though but I think Daddy was a little jealous!

Here are some pictures captured on our playdate! Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Well Ryan and I went out for a much needed date. It was a really good time and proved to us how much older we have become! We got a late start but that didn't stop us ta all. We were way too hungry to go to the Cheesecake Factory, so we settled on Houlihan's where Ryan got the shrimp and steak and I got the salmon. Oh yeah I had my first Mojito and loved it. I have been trying to get one for the longest time but apparently there was a shortage of mint! After dinner, we went to see Shrek the Third. It was sooooooooooo funny! Of course there was this woman ( and there is always someone who gets on my nerves at the movies) who had to laugh extra loud or make comments the whole movie. And when I am paying 9.75 a ticket you need to shut the hell up lady! Any way there were two teenagers (male and female) sharing a seat being inappropriate, while her two girlfriends sat next to her. You could tell that the whole thing was planned out...

Girl: Mom can me and Tina and Jasmine go to the movies?
Mom: Ok sure!
Girl: Can you drive and pick us up?
Mom: Yes.
Girl thinks to herself : Yeah, now all I have to do is tell Devin to meet me at the movies. My mom will never know.
Mom: I'll be back after the movie. ( and drives off)
Girl: Ok mom thanx.

*See the only thing is, I would have followed them into the theater and busted her ass wide open.

** Ok I would do the same thing if it was Miles, Pleas don't get it twisted!

*** What would you do? I mean this girl was letting this boy kiss/suck on her neck. She sat on his lap the WHOLE time. I hate to say it but she was dressed for easy access. AND if there wasn't anything going on ( I doubt it!) and they were having bible study, what kind of messege are they sending?

Please lets discuss tell your other blogging friends to come over to comment>

It's been a while...

...Since I have blogged for real. These days I am doing lots of things, like running after Miles. He is now climbing up and down the stairs more than playing with his toys! I also believe that clothes in this house are multiplying! Every time I turn around there is a pile waiting for me to wash. Same thing goes for the dishes! Let us not forget there is still unpacking to do. My goodness! I am just getting to our bedroom and I just came to terms that there is entirely toooo much CRAP! So I began to throw away or donate stuff. The house is coming together slowly. I have decided to try to sell diaper cakes for real now. I am going to try to set up something on the Internet very soon that is the goal! I am really excited! It won't just be diaper cakes but that's all a secret for now!

Ryan had been doing a lot of overtime and we are both feeling the effects of it! But I have to say that I am extremely lucky to say that I have been out of work and into another kind of work being at home with Miles and my husband supports that! I have still been looking for a job but the story is that I am too qualified for some things and not qualified for the rest! I keep trying and in the meantime I'll enjoy watching my son grow in leaps and bounds. He just turned 17 mos on the 28th, WOW!

Miles has been making a lot of the alphabet letter sounds and jibbering up a storm. Still waiting for some real words! Please if your kid has been talking in complete sentences from the womb, good for them! He has become more interested in his books other than to eat them. He holds the book properly and turns the pages for the most part 1 to 5 at a time!

Well I don't want to spoil you so I'll leave some for later! Sorry to my loyal readers all 5 of you. Oh yeah, Ryan's Birthday is on June 2nd! Be sure to wish him a happy one!

Hip Hip Hooraaaaay!

The Swaddle Report Update!
Last night we put Miles to sleep at 7:44pm and are you all ready for this......
HE SLEPT ALL NIGHT LONG! NO MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WAKE UPS. PURE UNADULTERATED SLEEP.
Now I am completely pleased that my son is finally getting it, and last night was truly a gift and I should have been able to enjoy it but I couldn't. Why, you may be wondering? Well for starters it was too hot in our room with the windows open. On top of that Ryan snored to beat the band. So there you have it! I would like to thank Janet and Arlene for there well wishes it worked. Lets keep our fingers crossed for another night of SLEEP.

The Swaddle Report

Well we were waiting for Ryan to go on vacation so that we could begin putting Miles to bed without his swaddle. Those of you who have been reading this blog for a while, know what issues we have been having and for those of you who are just tuning in for a giggle or two yes my 16month old son was being swaddled.

We began last Wednesday and we put him down at 7:30, usual time and it took forever to get him to go to sleep. He thought it was playtime, even though his body wasn't up for it! He finally went to sleep at 10pm and he kept waking up and we all were tired so we swaddled him. Thursday and Friday we swaddled him we crapped out and decided on Saturday nite we'd start again! Well we put him down reg. time and he got to sleep by 9:30pm. Sunday we followed thru and put him down and he went to sleep. Last nite(Monday) he was asleep by 8:11.

****Miles didn't stay asleep for the entire nite! There were times where he would wake up and be up for a while but it is getting better. I am sure that we are breaking some kind of nite-nite rule but we stay in there until he falls asleep. I know that it will take some time and I am prepared for that, but if anyone has any advice on what worked for them .... aim and fire! I'd like to know. So lets hear it for the boy!*****

Keep your fingers crossed and say a lil prayer for Miles, so that he may STAY ASLEEP!

16 Months Old!

Not much is happening here at the Johnson Home! We are still unpacking box after box after box! We have less now! Anyhoo, Miles is 16 months old and he amazes me everyday. His approach is always with gusto, with occasional caution. We are learning how to climb down the stairs and he's doing pretty good. For the most part he slides. Here are some pics of the Boy!

All Night Long!

What could i possibly be talking about? You wonder! Was I out with my girlfriends all nite long? Could it be that Ryan and I were Boww chicka Bow bow! Well my my dear blogging friends you are wrong! Were up all nite long with a 15 month old boy on the verge of getting a cold/allergies! He has been congested and coughing, sneezing, and rubbing his eyes to the point I'd thought they fall out! He couldn't get comfortable enough to get some rest. That was from 3-5am. Then he was up again! This time he peed thru his diaper and Ryan went in this time and came back into the room fussing about wipes and where were they. (right out of left feild cuz they were in the same place they always are. He changed him and got him settled and as soon as he got back to our room, here's Miles crying again. We decided to let him cry until it sounded like he needed assistance. By now it is 6:30am and we are extremely tired . Ryan gets upset and hit the wall out of frustration and it ticked me off cuz he's not the only one who didn't get any sleep! So I mad the decision to just get him up and take him to his playroom and play until breakfast time and Ryan went back to sleep. I fed Miles and myself and we have been hanging out since 6:30. I can't wait until he goes to bed ! I'll be knocked out right after him. Pray that he sleeps thru the nite we both need the rest!

Just in case you wanted to know what's up with us!

There has been a lot of running around lately and I haven't been able to blog. For starters we bought furniture for our front porch from Target and it is friggin cold out:( ! I must say that I love it! There is a long story about the furniture, but I'll spare you and give you the sound bite. I tried to buy the set online but they would charge me an xtra $140 for taxes and shipping and handling. It wouldn't ship until June 4th. So we went to Delaware home of tax free shopping ( see where I'm going with this), The were holding the set for me and brought it up front and the boxes were about as big as our truck! So we left it there and came home (PA) and rented a Penske truck and went back to DE and picked it up. The cost of that: $78! I'll have pix very soon but for now here!

I had to get a new desk chair for my computer cuz what we were using was killin' my back! It was $79 @ Staples!

Miles was outta food so we had to stock up. He is really attached to Stage 3 food! He is really selective about what table food he eats. I let him try everything we eat but most times he pushes it away or throws it on the floor! He is almost 16months anyone have any suggestions?
I need help!

Well the baby is asleep for the night and I getting ready yo watch the Adam Sandler flick!

Whatta Weekend!

This has been one busy weekend and I am sorry that I am just posting about now! My weekends are not like anyone Else's because my weekend begins when Ryan's 4-day off begins and that was on Friday.
Saturday was "The Baby Shower" for Cousin Najah. We don't know if she is having a girl or a boy. That would drive me crazy! It was really nice, it reminded me of my own shower in that her boyfriend was there to enjoy as well just as Ryan was present for ours. The centerpieces were diaper cakes and then were switched to real cakes for dessert ( on each table). She was loaded down with tons of stuff!

I was totally lunchin' on the picture tip, but Tasha and Roz were taking plenty so I'll make sure to steal them when they are available. There were cousins I we haven't seen since I was pregnant! So they were able to see Miles and he performed at times but warmed up and played with the kids. I was a good time had by all!

Sunday was my "not so little cousin's" son's 2 nd Birthday! He was the life of the party. Truly!
His name is Zebbie but aka Z4. Miles was all over the place like he owned the house! He ate pretzels and tortilla chips and salsa. He wasn't interested In any thing else. The food they had was YUM-O!

Here are a few pics
