Labor Day!

Grandmommy and Grandpoppie had a cook out --in. We had a really good time. There was alot of food! Miles had some BBQ chicken and enjoyed it! He had a chance to crawl on hardwood floors and found out that he can move faster and cover more space. We took a couple of pictures to share with you all.

We Have A New Cousin!

Today Cousin Rikki marries Troy! I hope they are as happy as my Mommy and Daddy are! I can't wait to meet you, new cousin Troy. I am sorry that I wasn't able to make it to the wedding. Daddy had to work and I wouldn't have made a very good guest. I have had some really bad pain in my mouth. I think I'm getting more teeth or maybe the two that I have are trouble-makers. Nothing my Mommy gives me seems to work. Thank you Mommy for being so patient with me! Anyhoo, Congratulations!

Off To Work Again Daddy?

Well Ryan has returned to work after his vacation, baby and I are always a lil sad and miss him while he is at work! The day began @ 6:30 am, Miles was calling for me and I decided to let him lay in the bed a little while longer since he wasn't going berserk! I felt pretty good and got up to get him. I went down the hall to his room, he saw me a his two pearly whites were there to greet me! I always begin by saying "Good Morning toes, Good Morning nose".

I love the look he gives me, I love the way he smells and I love the fact that when we both wake up the same side of our hair is jacked up!

Now we head back down the hall to our room, for diaper changing, bottle feeding and getting dressed for the day. I put him in his pack n' play for the first time as a play pen and actually liked being in there. This allowed me to get dressed.

Downstairs we go! Now that he was fed I can go feast on twigs and bark. LOL. We play with the swing, the Exersaucer and the Leap Pad Activity Table( he luvs it!) . Hew makes his way over to the stairs and I knew that he was going with or without me. Ryan has been the one with him going up the steps with him I guess he thinks that is going to be the norm. Well my lil soldier made it to the top ... no problem!

Once we were up stairs again, we had an all out laugh session. I tickled him and he let out such a big boy laugh, I almost cried. We had so much fun just laughing... together! It made me feel soooo good! I haven't laughed like that in a while. Back downstairs for a nap!

Later in the afternoon, we were still having a great time, I decided to reintroduce bubbles to him. I blew bubbles for him around 4.5 mos, but he didn't care! Today I did it and you could tell that he was disappointed that he couldn't catch and hold the bubble. But got agitated when I stopped , so I kept blowing bubbles and he watched intently.

Soon Ryan came home and played with his son and gave him a bath and put him to bed.

He is now in his room sleeping and dreaming of all the bubbles that he saw today.

UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!

Miles is 8months old today! He has been doing big things! Here's a run down:

• Ate real chicken and loved it.
• Loves those Gerber fruit and veggie puffs( He feeds those to himself).
• He can crawl with his stomach off the floor but prefers commando GI Joe style instead.
• With supervision, he can climb up our stairs.
• He has two bottom teeth.
• We let him pet a dog an VA. He liked it!
• Has been to Virginia.
• Has made many friends in his travels.

Well waddya know we have 2 teeth and Miles still won't let me photograph them. People are liable to think that I'm bragging on imaginary teeth. I swear that they're in there! It's funny
Miles is all grins all day and as soon as I come around with the camera he gets a case of tight lip! I'll keep trying.

Thank God for Changing Pads!

Ok, I don't know why I felt the need to share this bit of information with you but as soon as it happened, I just knew I had to share! I was putting Miles down for the night and I was changing his diaper and as with any other diaper change, I have to give him something ot keep him relativiely still.

All day Ryan and I kept smelling poop, but everytime we checked his Pamper... nothing! Well I go to change his diaper and bingo! There was a package and whew was it funkeeee! Oh, but wait it gets worse. I just know Cousin Tasha is gonna love this. It kept coming and it was a farkin rainbow! You heard me people, it changed colors right b4 my eyes. And to make matters much more colorful, I had no diaper under him ...yet! I swear I was looking for an off button to make it stop. So there wasn't anything I could do until he had finished. Thank God for changing pads! The other side of the comforter is already messed up from the banana incident!

The Fun Spot Center!

Today was Fun Day for Miles. We decided that we are usually out and about but it isn't much fun for him so I found a place through a SAHM network online that meet up in our area and I decided to chec it out. It was alot of fun for Miles and thru his fun we had fun. This place had toys,toys,toys, and toys. Did I say they had toys? Everything from a Moon Bounce to a ball pit. Miles played with a lot of new toys for a while. This allowed us to see what toys hold his interest and what dosen't. This way we don't waste our money . More Conversations With A Tooth

Miles: I feel something funny in my mouth! I wonder what it could be. I'll make some noise and maybe Mommy will tell me what it is. (Muh muh muh muhma)

Tooth: Good Morning Miles!

Mommy: Good Morning toes Good Morning nose! What's that in your mouth?

Tooth: It's me, I have arrived!

Mommy: Oh boy! Your tooth is coming in!

Tooth: It feels so good to be getting some fresh air for a change!

Miles: Think of all the things I can do with this tooth, some lady at a store told me once my teeth come in, something called a cookie wont be far behind.

Tooth: Please take good care of me. I would like to be apart of "The NO Cavity Club" Like your Mommy! I have a buddy who lives right next to me who will be making an appearance real soon!

Conversations With A Tooth

It goes something like this:

Miles: Oh boy do my gums hurt, I wonder what's happening down below!

Tooth: It's dark in here and I'm afraid of the dark.

Miles: Hey tooth, when are you coming out?

Tooth: I dunno!

Miles: Maybe you should push yourself out.

Tooth: Ok, I'll try. Arrrgh arrrgh uuuumph (panting and out of breath) Do you see me yet?

Miles: Nope! Try again!

Tooth: Arrrrgh arrrrgh uuuuumph! Anything?

Miles: No not yet!

Tooth: Maybe you should try chewing on that orange pick, your mom uses on your hair!

Miles: Ok, Chomp chomp, slobber, slobber.

Tooth: I see light up ahead, Do it again.

Miles: Chomp, slobber, slobber, chomp.

Franklin Square Park

Today I went to the Park for the first time! I loved it! I rode on the swings, and the sliding board and a Merry-go-round. I liked the swings the best, it reminded me of my swing at home!

The 3 Amigos

In June we finally got the boys together and they had a good time! Those pictures were captured and posted. I wanted them to have a souviner of the occassion! I made them t-shirts with their picture on it. Presenting The 3 Amigos: Miles Ellis Johnson, Jackson Bernard Webb and Elijah Keith Martin. It will be a while before their together again so enjoy the shirts I hope you like them!

HELP!

S.O.S (Still on Swaddle)

Ok Mommies I am reaching out to you for your ideas, tips, encouraging words, advice - preferably all of the above!

My son is 7 months and he still needs to be swaddled! Is this normal? I don't want to cause any muscular damage or anything! If I don't swaddle him we will both be up and we can't have that! He is an active sleeper w/o it.

I have tried to wean him from it but he only lasts a few hours before he's completely up and won't go back to sleep for another 45 minutes. He does ok if he's sleeping with one of us ( we found that out on vacation not something we practice at home!!!)

Our Pediatrician seemed ok with it, but I want him to be able to sleep on his own ya know. I don't want him to have to pull out this wrap on his wedding night and his wife saying WTF!

I know that there a lot of you who check out my blog looking for pix and not leaving comments that's fine but if you can find it in your hearts to leave me some info on this matter I would truly appreciate it. I also know that my regulars that comment won't let me down. Leave a comment or tell me in confidence.
